Barbara McGuire presents: Learn to create personalized faces for beadwork - and beads. Barbara McGuire will demonstrate how a lump of clay transforms into a face using simple tools - your fingers! (And a ball stylus) It’s easier than you think! She will also share various means of molding with two-part compounds and perfecting faces taken from existing molds and found object faces.
Speaker Bio: Barbara A. McGuire is a nationally acknowledged artist whose diverse talents include works in polymer clay, painting and jewelry design. She has written 10 books on design and instruction and has developed stamps, templates and molds for artists working in polymer and metal clay. Barbara has appeared as a regular guest of the popular Carol Duvall show. Her work reflects a strong influence of traditional design incorporating innovative materials and collected artifacts. She lives in Mars Hill, NC and teaches in her home studio.

Polymer Clay - Premo Ecru, any color OK. Darker colors or translucent may not be easy to see.
Fingers - short nails help.
Ball stylus - variety of sizes.
Small paintbrush, flexible but firm, soft not bristle.
Amazing Mold Putty (by Alumilite) 2 part molding material, available at Michaels and most craft stores.
Cornstarch with brush or puff.
