Meet author Ed Polansky at The Twig Book Shop at the Pearl for a reading and book signing of Oscar the Osprey: The Bird Who Was Afraid of Heights, now in a new edition from Cedric D. Fisher & Company Publishers.
Oscar is an osprey with a big problem: he's afraid of heights. When his flock migrates without him, he has to make it through a winter on his own. It's a story about facing fear and learning to adapt, written for readers ages 6 and up and illustrated by San Antonio artist Jean Rosow.
The Bird Who Was Afraid of Heights is the first book in Ed's six-book Oscar the Osprey series, which has been praised by Kirkus Reviews. Ed is a retired CPA and Chairman of the Board of RBFCU, and he first wrote Oscar's story on an Apple II Plus in the early 1980s.
Bring the kids, hear Ed read from the book, and take home a signed copy. Copies will be available for purchase at the event.
When: Thursday, October 29th, 2026, 6:00–7:00 PM
Where: The Twig Book Shop, 306 Pearl Pkwy, Suite 106, San Antonio, TX 78215
