You are invited to the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium at Union Station Kansas City on Thursday, March 26th, for an exclusive, one-of-a-kind experience under the stars!
As a thank-you for your $75 one-time gift to Kansas City PBS, the planetarium team are excited to showcase never-before-seen content, including an extended live rendition of their seasonal star tour Stargaze Kansas City, with additional tour stops in and around Jupiter and other planets visible in Spring 2026. We will explore the Galilean Moons, discover secrets hiding below the surface of Europa, and explore the mysterious Trojan Asteroids!
In addition to an extended showing of the star tour, guests will also be invited to take an early sneak peek at a brand-new planetarium show, set to be released to the public later in the summer. The film is called the One Sky Project, and is an international collaboration focused on increasing understanding about cultural and indigenous astronomy, its historical and modern applications, and how our One Sky connects us all. It features seven short films that touch on the topics of finding patterns and building tools that foster connection to the sky and leverage astronomical phenomena to advance societal goals. The project was led by the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center in Hawaii, sponsored by the Thirty Meter Telescope, and supported by the California Academy of Sciences, the Franklin Institute and NSF’s NOIRLab.
The entire evening experience will last about 1.5 hours, and is recommended for ages 5 and up.
