Opalina Salas
Opalina Salas is a poet, a former bookstore owner, and creator and host of the Poets on X+ reading series, held in her beloved home of Oak Cliff, TX. Her first collection of poems, Black Sparrow Dress, is available from Mad Swirl Press. She has performed at the first annual New Orleans Poetry Fest of 2016 and was featured at the Texas Beat Poetry Festival 2012, Forest Fest in Lamesa, TX in 2011. In and around Dallas, TX, she has performed for OPP: Other People’s Poetry, has featured at Pandora’s Box, at Arte y Pan Dulce, a PoC Art Show, Burning Woman 2026, is a member of Tejana Cosmica, a performer with her husband, Carlos Salas in the sound experience Your Loving Son, and is a regular at Mad Swirl Open Mic.

Carlos Salas is a multi-discipline artist, former bookstore owner, and co-host of the Poets on X+ reading series held at Mighty Fine Arts Gallery in Oak Cliff, Texas.
He first started reading/reciting poetry at The Dogstar in Fort Worth, Texas and has been published in various chapbooks and anthologies. He has performed at the first annual New Orleans Poetry Festival of 2016, broadcast to Blackwater Poetry Festival in the County of Cork, Ireland, performed at The Latino Cultural Festival in Austin, Texas. Carlos appears as one of the many regulars that make up the longest running monthly reading series in Dallas, The Madswirl. Carlos lives with his love and fellow poet Opalina Salas with their cat Jack in Oak Cliff, Texas.
