Join us for an evening of literary readings at Secret World Books as Laura Joyce-Hubbard welcomes Hugh Martin — Iraq War veteran, Wallace Stegner Fellow, and author of In Country and The Stick Soldiers — for a reading, author conversation, and audience Q&A.

Both writers have served in uniform and carried that experience into language. In a year when the nation pauses to take stock of itself and its stories, their work asks what it means to witness, to return, and to make meaning from what endures.
