An Evening of Kirtan and Chai
About this Event
Ease into the end of your week with an evening of kirtan — mantra meditation through music, voice, and sacred sound.
Kirtan is the ancient practice of mantra meditation through sound — call-and-response chanting that draws you out of your thinking mind and into the stillness of your heart. No experience is needed. You don't need to sing well. You don't even need to sing at all. Many people simply close their eyes and let the sound move through them.
This evening will be led by Chaitanya Academy NZ, using traditional Indian instruments to guide us through sacred mantras passed down through generations. Chaitanya Academy is an international institute dedicated to the study of consciousness, and we're grateful to host them at our Centre.
We'll close the evening together with a warm cup of chai — a simple, grounding moment of community before heading home.
Who this is for: Anyone curious about kirtan, mantra, or meditation. Beginners are warmly welcomed. Whether you're new to chanting or have been practising for years, there is space for you here.
