Distinguished players in the field of early music, Rachel Beckett, Alison Bury and Alastair Ross have been playing together in various ensembles for many years. They have all been principals of the English Baroque Soloists, making many recordings and performing all over the world under the baton of Sir John Eliot Gardiner. Rachel Beckett is still the principal flute of that orchestra as well as principal recorder of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Together with Alison, former leader and founder member of OAE, she gave a chamber music recital with other colleagues from OAE in the St John’s Smith Square Festival of Baroque Music in 2023. Alastair plays regularly with the Sixteen and has recently released a highly praised CD of Geminiani cello sonatas with his son, George Ross. He and Rachel have given numerous recitals in this country. With Alison they expanded the duo to a trio, which has given concerts in Lewes and Oxfordshire.Tickets £35 to include a glass of wine or fruit juice. visit our website stmarysbramber.co.uk or telephone 01903 816205).
