Longmont Moose Lodge #1548, 1211 | Longmont, CO
On Tuesday Nov. 11, Vic will sit down with Colorado veterans who will share their courageous stories of service and recovery journeys from addiction and mental health issues in front of a live audience at the Longmont Moose Lodge.
Veterans face unique challenges when it comes to addiction and mental health recovery. The three veterans who will join Vic in conversation will open up about their journeys in hopes that their stories can help others who are struggling. This will be a powerful evening and we hope you will join us.
Military service and recovery means a great deal to Vic and his family.
Both he and his father are named after Vic’s Great Uncle Vic Vela, who won the Purple Heart for his service in World War II and The Battle of the Bulge. Vic’s grandfather was a Marine and, in fact, every one of his grandpa’s brothers served. Vic’s dad, Victor Vela Sr — a longtime Longmont civic leader and youth sports coach— is an Army veteran who struggled with alcohol use in life, but has been sober for more than 20 years.
While admission is free, the BFBF would appreciate donations to our 501c3 nonprofit organization, to help ensure our ability to hold events like this one across Colorado. You can donate here: TheBFBF.org/donate.
If you are a business owner in the Longmont area and would like to become an event sponsor, please send us an email ASAP so that we can include your information in our event materials: [email protected].
