Blending traditional Scottish folk with dub reggae and modern dance music, An Dannsa Dub create a powerful, genre-defying sound rooted in ancient Gaelic and West African rhythms. Their name translates from Gaelic as “The Dub Dance”, and their performances channel the communal energy of a cèilidh with the deep, immersive pulse of a sound system session.
Praised by Mungo's Hi Fi as “a thoroughly original and exciting” fusion of styles, the band has built a reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts on the UK festival circuit. Highlights include wowing a 10,000-strong crowd at Boomtown Fair and headlining a sold-out show at Celtic Connections.
Their self-titled EP An Dannsa Dub (2021) earned widespread acclaim and airplay across BBC platforms, with support from tastemakers like Don Letts and Tom Robinson.
