About this Event
Jeff Brown is a familiar face, having appeared on our TV screens for almost three decades as a news and sports presenter for BBC Look North and ITV Tyne Tees.
He began his journalism career at the Birmingham Post & Mail newspaper group in 1982, returning home to the North East in 1986 to take up a sports reporter’s role at The Journal covering football, cricket, boxing and speedway.
He moved into television with Tyne Tees in 1996, joining the BBC seven years later and spending 21 with Look North where he shared the main presenter duties with Carol Malia.
Married to Susan, with a daughter, Alice, who is a West End actress, Jeff has had two plays professionally produced. He and his wife are both Deputy Lieutenants of Tyne and Wear, and next year Jeff will take up the ceremonial role of the county’s High Sheriff.
