*Limited Capacity: Only 40 Spots Available!*Be transported to the cultures of Asia...only much closer to home! Our day will begin at BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, NJ. BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham is the largest Hindu temple in the U.S. This temple, also known as a mandir, will give you the feel of being transported to another world. The Akshardham spans 185 acres and boasts stunning architecture that will amaze you. After a tour and time on your own, we will have a true Hindu experience with lunch (on your own) at the Shayona Café. *Please note: The Hindu temple will require a dress code. Please check itinerary for specifics*
We will then journey to Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center in Philadelphia. Enjoy a tour of this traditional Japanese-style house originally built in Japan in 1953, a few years later it was dismantled and shipped to Philadelphia and reconstructed as part of the city's Japanese-American Friendship Festival. After the tour, participate in a tea tasting. A trained guide will explain the history, culture, and art of Chadō, or the way of tea, known in the US as Tea Ceremony. You will learn about Japanese tea culture and get a chance to make and drink your own bowl of tea. After the tasting, enjoy feeding the koi fish in their koi pond with a cup of koi fish food.
*Please note: Socks are required in the house & during tea tasting*
