An Alternative Xanadu: London Launch Party

An Alternative Xanadu is a poetic sequence documenting the chaotic, shifting organism that is a shared house and its inhabitants. Xanadu Housing Co-operative was born in Leeds in 2004, and here, we get a chance to look at it anew. Tallulah Howarth welcomes the uncanny and alien, with an added formalist conceit: the word count of each poem is dictated by the square foot measurements of the rooms within the house.

Opening with readings from friends - Kayleigh Jayshree, Jo Kelen and Helen Bowell. Then you can expect to be welcomed into Xanadu with a full reading of the sequence. Following this will be by an optional dancefloor, facilitated by a few of the many DJs in Tallulah's family, including the Stewart Brothers 🎧
