About this Event
Steve Luck is a Newcastle-based pianist and composer working in modern classical solo piano. His music is calm, reflective and understated, focusing on simplicity, space and emotional clarity. He will be performing music from his recent album Homecoming, a collection of original piano pieces inspired by place, memory and the feeling of returning home, with a strong connection to the North East.
Steve’s work has been streamed over 4 million times worldwide and is regularly heard on TV and radio. His music is often compared to composers such as Ludovico Einaudi, while retaining a personal and quietly expressive voice. The Sunderland Echo described his work as “modern classical piano miniatures that explore the delicate interplay between melancholy and hope, forming an engaging body of work which is both contemplative and uplifting.”
As a media composer he has written music for more than 100 projects including shorts and feature films, TV documentaries and animations. He is a two-time Royal Television Society award winner for Professional Excellence in Music.
Alongside his performing and composing work, Steve is Patron of the Newcastle Piano Festival and sits on the Music Writers Committee of the Musicians’ Union. In concert, audiences can expect an intimate experience, with music that invites stillness, reflection and a deep sense of connection.
