About The Book
After a nerve-racking job in the Bahamas scouting locations for a television commercial, Miami location scout Lucas Sloan is hired on a movie whose story is centered around the powerful and secretive sugar industry in the Dominican Republic, a country where his mistake on a previous film continues to follow and haunt him. Navigating the social and racial strata of the host country, Sloan experiences the pleasures and pressures of the film business while using his own tactics and survival methods to handle rising stress levels and uncertainties. Travel behind the scenes with Sloan as he moves from one intense and farcical adventure to another. Enter the world of moviemaking at ground level and discover a location scout getting his hands dirty as he struggles to complete the mission and survive the creative and personal upheaval.
