About this Event
This interactive session combines hands-on gemstone examination with a practical discussion of laboratory reports, treatments and treatment identification, mounted-stone limitations, and current market realities.
Attendees will examine natural and synthetic diamonds, natural colored stones, and common synthetics using field tools including magnification, polariscope, spectroscope, and ultraviolet light.
Along the way, weโll discuss what gemologists can realistically determine in everyday working conditions โ and where laboratory analysis becomes essential.
Designed for all levels of experience, from beginning students to advanced gemologists, this afternoon offers a chance to sharpen observation skills, explore real-world gemological questions, and enjoy time networking with fellow GIA Alumni.
