An Afternoon with Elizabeth Sutherland
About this Event
An Afternoon with Elizabeth Sutherland
Join us on Sunday, August 30th, for AN AFTERNOON WITH ELIZABETH SUTHERLAND!
Liz Sutherland aged out of foster care at 18. Now she’s an author and advocate who wrote a children’s book about her story, a story for every kid who feels like they don’t belong.
The Extraordinary Story of No Ordinary Liz follows a young Liz’s bravery as she learns to speak up for herself and navigate life in foster care. This book will help children process that they aren't alone in their experiences. It’s also a great tool for foster parents, and for friends of children in foster care.
Elizabeth Sutherland also wrote No Ordinary Liz-part memoir, part guidebook. It’s a complex, intriguing story filled with twists and turns that follows the author’s incredible journey to survive foster care, unravel her complicated past, and discover her true identity. This book offers support and resources for agencies, foster youth and foster parents.
Join us on Sunday, August 30th between 1pm and 5pm to meet Liz, hear her story, share your stories, and get your book signed by the author
