An Afternoon of Emerald Elegance

Join us for an elegant afternoon of fellowship, celebration, and community impact at An Afternoon of Emerald Elegance on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Alfred W. Harris Academic Commons at Virginia State University.

Enjoy live entertainment by the Sounds Funny Band, led by Micah “Bam-Bamm” White, blending R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Funk, Go-Go, and comedy into a high-energy performance that will keep you dancing and laughing all afternoon.

This signature event will bring together community leaders, professionals, and supporters for an afternoon filled with connection, entertainment, and purpose. Guests will enjoy an elevated experience while helping support programs that create meaningful opportunities throughout the Petersburg community.

As Petersburg continues to grow and evolve, we remain committed to ensuring that education, mentorship, and service remain part of the community's positive trajectory.

A portion of each ticket purchase is tax-deductible. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for organizations and individuals interested in supporting this important work.

Proceeds from this event benefit:

• Scholarships for local students,
• B.E.A.M. (Black Excellence and Advancement Mentoring), serving middle school girls through mentorship and leadership development, and
• Our award-winning Senior Empowerment Program supporting residents in senior living communities
