An Advent Retreat...the Spiritual Practice of Storytelling

How do our personal stories connect with the incredible narrative of Christmas? Get ready to dive into a transformative Advent Retreat led by the inspiring Dr. Robbie Pinter, a Spiritual Director, Group Facilitator, and recently retired professor from Belmont University! This retreat is all about the Spiritual Practice of Storytelling, where we’ll share and listen to stories that resonate deeply.
Our personal spiritual stories are a reflection of the unique journeys of our souls. At our essence, we are narratives crafted by the ultimate Storyteller, and we have the amazing opportunity to collaborate with God in sharing our own tales, enriching the universal story in the process. As Sue Monk Kidd beautifully expressed in her 1989 article, "Remember the Story," we’ll explore how the Christmas story invites us to discover our place in the grand tapestry of life and our individual paths.
Get ready for an engaging prayer practice where we’ll write and share stories from our lives and traditions, guided by three exciting "movements" of the retreat:
1. The Stories that Hold Us: Let’s boost our awareness of the narratives we’ve been told and those waiting to be shared!
2. The Stories We Hold: We’ll cultivate our ability to author our own unique story!
3. We are Being Held: Together, we’ll listen for the beautiful story that is being told!
