🔥 FLAMENCO MEETING: CANTE DE LAS MINAS 2026

An evening to meet, watch, listen, talk — and immerse ourselves in flamenco together.
On September 4, we’re opening the doors at Treehouse for a special evening dedicated to the 2026 Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas, one of the most important and historic flamenco festivals and competitions in Spain.
Born in the mining region of La Unión, Murcia, the festival has played a unique role in preserving the powerful cantes mineros while becoming an international meeting point for flamenco singing, dance and guitar.
And this time, Amsterdam meets Athens! 🇳🇱 ↔ 🇬🇷
The same event will be happening simultaneously in Athens, at the dance school CUERPO Y ALMA, and during the evening we’ll connect live with the group there to exchange thoughts, impressions and conversation.
THE EVENING
19:00–19:30 | Cante de las Minas: history & context
A short introduction to the history and importance of the festival, followed by a look at what happened in the recently completed 2026 edition.
19:30–21:00 | Watch together
Screening of the 2026 final competition, featuring flamenco singing, dance, guitar and flute.
21:00–22:30 | Talk, questions & exchange
An open conversation about what we watched, this year's artists, flamenco today — and anything else you would like to ask or discuss.
☕🍷 Throughout the evening, we'll have wine, coffee, tea and small bites to share.
The evening is also a chance for anyone curious about my upcoming flamenco singing classes in Amsterdam to come by, meet me in person, ask questions and get a feeling for the way we approach flamenco together.
Everyone is welcome — you don't need to be a student or have previous flamenco experience.
