Amphitrio – Live in BloomingtonAmphitrio is a contemporary jazz trio from Romania, founded in 2020 by pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex, and percussionist Philip Goron. As part of their debut U.S. tour, the trio brings its original music to Bloomington.
The band presents a selection of original compositions from across their discography, defined by modern jazz language, strong rhythmic identity, and an open, interactive approach to improvisation. Their latest album, Timelines (2024), was awarded Album of the Year by Radio România Cultural.
For this performance, Amphitrio is joined by special guests Robert Cozma (trombone) and Willie Bays (saxophone).
