Amok & OK emerged from the friendship and sonic dynamism of clarinetist Amy Zuidema and multi-instrumentalist Bubba Crumrine. Their compositions embrace unapologetic, raw emotion and alchemize it into otherworldly sonic terrains through improvisation, colliding ethereal ambience with the intensity of noise to transform each performance into a singular, cathartic experience. Amy Zuidema (she/they) is an interdisciplinary creator, educator, & veteran whose work showcases vulnerability as strength & is grounded in trauma-informed practices that foster healing & connection. Amy has presented their research on cultivating emotional safe spaces at Oberlin Conservatory, Darmstädter Ferienkurse, Prins Claus Conservatorium, and the International Clarinet Association Festival. Bubba Crumrine (they/them) has been curating inclusive performance spaces since 2008 via Ithaca Underground and has presented their expertise at Cornell University and Ithaca College, Their work seeks to break the boundaries of genre, gender, and trauma.
