Pikeside to Celebrate America’s 250th With Special Two-Day Worship Event
This July 4th weekend, Pikeside invites the entire community to mark America’s 250th anniversary not just with fireworks and festivities, but with gratitude, reflection, and worship.
On Saturday, July 4 at 3:00 p.m., Pikeside will host a special service titled “Freedom in Christ,” before any of the firework displays and celebrations commence. The gathering will weave together beloved hymns, scripture, and a message exploring how the freedoms we celebrate as Americans are rooted in a deeper, spiritual freedom offered through Christ. “Our nation was founded with an awareness of God’s providence and a longing for liberty,” said Pastor Bill Ball. “We believe God’s guiding hand has been on us since the beginning, and we want to pause and give thanks, seeking God’s blessing for the future.”
The celebration continues Sunday, July 5, with a Unity Worship Service at 10:15 a.m. This service, “A More Perfect Union: Faithful Citizenship” will reflect on how faith shapes our lives as American citizens and calls us to work for justice, compassion, and unity. Both Saturday’s and Sunday’s service will blend music, prayer, and messages for all ages.
The congregation encourages everyone—families, friends, neighbors, and visitors—to make worship a part of this historic weekend. “As we celebrate our nation’s birthday, let’s join together to remember the One who has blessed and sustained us,” Pastor Bill said. “We hope you’ll come as you are and be part of a community that believes faith can shape a brighter tomorrow.”
