The perfect antidote to America's Toughest Road Races is America's Slowest 5K presented by Altra.
Join us in Roanoke, VA on April 13, 2025 at Black Dog Salvage (home of the HGTV/DIY Network Salvage Dawgs🤩) for the ultimate party pace 5k run.
All runners and walkers are welcome! This takes place the day after The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon, but it's open to anyone and everyone who wants to go slow. It's also one of the very best times to try out a pair Altra shoes!
7:30 - 8:30am Registration & Check-in
Pick up a flower lei (your race bib), a cup of 'joe (your participant swag), and fresh glazed donut. NEW! In 2025, you can also check-in at Elmwood Park at the Friday Packet Pick Up and Expo, as well as on Saturday at the Finish Festival. Just remember to bring your lei on Sunday!
9:00am-ish Race Start
Following the ceremonial biting-of-the-donut the "race" begins and folks will make their way out onto the beautiful Roanoke River Greenway for a leisurely, social, relaxing 5k where the goal is your personal slowest time. The FINAL finisher will win a pair of brand new Altra shoes.
10am-4pm Enjoy the finish line festivities!
Altra will be demoing their latest running shoes. Fleet Feet Roanoke will be hosting lots of awesome recovery services. And the Black Dog Salvage artisan vendors will be onsite selling local art (a great way to take home a piece of Roanoke!) Mimosas available for purchase, as well as beer, coffee, and food!
