America’s 250th:
Who were the heroes of our Revolution, who were the villains and why does it still matter?
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in this anniversary special where we will bring to life the heroes and villains of our Revolution through their own eyes. How did everyday people: fathers, sons, scientists and shopkeepers make earth-shattering decisions that would destroy their country, their families and perhaps even their souls? Lives on all sides: free and slave, native and colonist, patriot and loyalist will be forever changed and the greatest revolution in modern history will change America and the world!
Guest speaker: East Lake High’s very own Outstanding Educator of the Year, Alan N. Kay, returns to the public eye with a mission to make history more interesting, fun and relevant not only for kids but this time for adults as well. In 2002, Alan was the Daughters of the American Revolution National Teacher of the Year as well as the State of Florida American History Teacher of the Year! Finally, as an author of Neither King nor Country, an American Revolution Historical Fiction novel, Alan is uniquely qualified, passionate and will leave you wanting more!
We hope you can join us for this engaging and fun intergenerational history presentation! Please register as this is sure to fill fast.
