Americanism Essay Contest Sponsored by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks
✨ Theme: “What Does Service to Your Country Mean To You?”
📚 Who Can Enter:
Students in grades 5–8 (divisions broken down by grade).
📝 Rules:
• Essay must not exceed 300 words.
• Must be typed or neatly written in ink.
• Submit essays to the Springfield Elks Lodge #158, 409 E. Lake Shore Dr., Springfield, Illinois 62712
🏆 Awards:
National winners receive plaques and monetary prizes:
• 1st Place: $1,000
• 2nd Place: $500
• 3rd Place: $250
📅 Deadline:
Essays must be submitted by December 15, 2025. A copy of the Essay Cover Sheet must be completed for each level of the competition and remain attached to the Essay. Cover Sheet available upon request (see contact name/email address below)
