Asher Danziger is an electric freak folk one-man-band based in New Orleans(raised in Urbana) who writes and performs his own original material. His use of one-man-band instrumentation to arrange his original music is kindred to Shakey Graves and Cam Cole. His music and writing draws on his life, which throws gypsy jazz threads, hip hop influences and a dash of ambient spice, into his electric folk sensibilities. A collage of sonic influences channeled through a John Prine-esque story teller's lens. Apart from his steady musical career in New Orleans where he has held multi-year residencies, busks regularly on the world famous Royal Street, and has gigged at many of the venues in town; he has performed in the Netherlands, Germany, Israel, Ireland and France. Highlighted by festivals such as Northern Current in Saranac Lake, So What's Next in Eindhoven, Folk and Roots Festival in Champaign/Urbana, and The United Bakery Yearly Review in New Orleans.
