In this special concert, renowned NYC-based musicians will perform the music of Paul Simon, one of the most influential and beloved American singer-songwriters of the 20th century. The band of top talent assembled for this performance mirrors the range of Simon's music, bringing together artists with roots in gospel, r&b, jazz, rock n roll, and traditional world music. You’ll enjoy favorite songs from different eras including Sound of Silence, American Tune, Mrs. Robinson, and Graceland, as well as stories about Simon and his creative process.

About the performers:
Dan Nadel (guitar and production). Dan is the music director for Congregation B'nai Jeshurun in Manhattan and director of the 92NY's new program Bridges in Sound. A busy musician on New York’s scene, Nadel has worked with many world-renowned artists, including jazz musicians Chico Freeman, Dave Liebman and Anat Fort, Israeli-French pop star Yael Naim, opera soloists Chen Reiss and Maya Lahyani, and genre-crossing musicians from around the world.
Gabrielle Stravelli (vocals) combines a tremendous swing feel with a gift for lyric interpretation. Gabrielle regularly leads her quartet in performances at the country's finest jazz clubs & performing arts centers and has headlined domestic & international jazz festivals. She has been a U.S. State Department "Jazz Ambassador" since 2015, and has performed and taught throughout Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America.
Satoshi Takeishi (drummer, percussionist, and arranger) is a native of Mito Japan. He studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Satoshi has performed and recorded with many musicians including as Ray Barretto, Carlos ‘Patato’ Valdes, Eliane Elias, Marc Johnson, Eddie Gomez, Randy Brecker, Dave Liebman, Anthony Braxton, Mark Murphy, Herbie Mann, Paul Winter Consort, Rabih Abu Khalil, Toshiko Akiyoshi Big Band, Erik Friedlander and Pablo Ziegler
Shai Bachar (keyboards) is a classically trained pianist and composer. Born in Jerusalem's cultural melting pot, his sound is informed by his immersion in jazz, middle-eastern and electronic music, and is distinguished by his bold and arresting synthesis of these musical traditions. He has released two albums under the Tzadik record label and his singular talent has garnered the attention of global corporations seeking to expand their reach across cultures.
Gene Taylor (vocals) is a Brooklyn based multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and actor. Gene has performed in clubs like BB Kings, The Rainbow Room, Joes Pub, and more. Most recently Gene appeared on NBC's The Voice season 25. Currently Gene plays and sings with the legendary Cafe Wha band and is continuously recording new music.
