Emily Ann and Kelly Thompson present an American Roots concert in celebration of our country's 250th! Hear fiddle music & traditional songs from the time of the early American settlers, mainly focusing on music from the birth of our country in 1776 to the early 1900s. This program includes Old-time, Appalachian, Cajun, & Bluegrass fiddling, American folk songs, and African-American spirituals. Emily Ann demonstrates how traditional music from Irish, Scottish, French, African, and other cultures influenced new American styles. Emily Ann plays the violin, clogs, and sings, and is accompanied by her husband, Kelly, on guitar.
