Kristen Toole is a singer-songwriter from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Raised in a Christian home with three brothers, she got her start in her local Church choir, singing everything from Hymms to Contemporary Christian.
From a very young age, Kristen seemed to have a interest in music and as she got older that interest turned into a passion. From writing songs within the four walls of her bedroom, to learning the chords to songs by some of her favorite artists, Kristen began to develop her craft.
At fourteen, she began playing local venues within the Brevard area, as well as performing with local musicians and competing in local competitions.
Her first win took place in 2016 taking home Third place in the NC Mountain State Fair Gospel Competition (Youth Division), she returned to take home two Second place wins in that same competition in 2017 (Youth Division) and in 2019 (Adult Division).
In 2018, Kristen decided it was time to head into a recording studio for the first time ever and lay down the tracks for her first single "Carolina Moon".
A few years later she found herself in a duo group by the name of "Wild River" and after two seasons with the Duo group, Kristen decided that she wanted to take the next step within her career and departed the Duo to form "Kristen Toole & Carolina Moon". Kristen began performing full band shows in late 2022, while still performing acoustically as well and has since performed on stages all across North and South Carolina.
One of her biggest accomplishments in 2023 was performing on the Myst Stage at Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Resort and being a Finalist in the NCAgStar competition.
In 2024, Kristen had to opportunity to perform at not only The Barn at Paint Fork in Barnardsville, NC--But also the Western North Carolina Country Music Fest at Silverado's Music Park in Black Mountain, NC.
Her music is her way of expressing herself and her heart is entwined in the roots of Classic country with a Rockabilly twang. You will often find songs by Hank Williams, Patty Loveless and Johnny Cash in her setlists, as well as Alan Jackson, Vince Gill and Miranda Lambert.
She has been said to remind people of Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, Gretchen Wilson and Reba McEntire which have all been influences through-out her musical journey.
