The iconic American Independence Festival is back! Join us in Exeter for a full day celebrating our shared freedom with historic re-enactments, traditional artisans, vendors, demonstrations, and the live reading of the Declaration of Independence that started it all 250 years ago. We'll display our rare Dunlap Broadside of the Declaration itself along with an original draft of the United States Constitution.
There will be Sam Adams beer in the Folsom Tavern starting at noon. While the artisans and re-enactors and marketplace wrap up at 4pm, the beer will be sold until 7pm while Todd Hearon & Friends play live music from the Independence Patio behind the Ladd-Gilman House. Enjoy art, music, food trucks, and kids activities with TEAM Exeter on Swasey Parkway all day and top it all off with the Town fireworks display at dusk.
Admission is free, because independence is for all of us!
