About this Event
The Home Front During World War II
Presented by American History Instructor David Hudiak, J.D.
While many Americans know of the sacrifices made by our military personnel during World War II, few of us remember the sacrifices made by our civilians during the war. With rationing, blood drives, war bonds and countless other efforts, our civilian population contributed to our successful war effort and constituted another front in the conflict--the Home Front. This is the story of the Home Front.
This presentation stresses how the American people pulled together with various sacrifices during the war to defeat a common enemy. The contrast between that era and today’s divisive times is striking and gives hope that perhaps we as a people can “come together” again.
