America 250th Tour of Historic Raleigh City Cemetery

The Historic Resources and Advisory Board is offering two free program exploring the idea of freedom on the eve of America’s 250th anniversary in Raleigh’s City Cemetery. Local historians will guide visitors on the hour-long tour that will reveal the stories of those in the cemetery who fought for freedom during the American Revolution and the struggles of those who fought afterward to fulfill the promises of a new nation. Cemetery staff will also discuss the preservation and upkeep of these important historic spaces. The tour is free but space is limited. Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged.Tours begin at 10:30 and 1:30 tour iand last an hour.
