The Lt. Andrew Crockett Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, along with Old Glory Chapter, DAR invites the community to attend its annual Reading of the Declaration of Independence on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Williamson County Archives and Museum in Franklin.
Held each Independence Day for many years in Williamson County, this annual tradition honors the words that changed history and the Revolutionary War patriots who secured American independence.
This year’s observance will feature the Williamson County Community Band, living history encampment, fife and drum, and a public reading of the Declaration of Independence. Children’s activities and refreshments will follow inside the Archives.
Members of the Old Glory Chapter, NSDAR, are pleased to participate in this America 250 community observance alongside the Lt. Andrew Crockett Chapter.
Attendees are encouraged to bring outdoor seating. Colonial or patriotic attire is welcomed and encouraged.
