This discussion will explore the vital intersection of Christian faith, democracy, and patriotism as America approaches its semi quincentennial in 2026, offering attendees a principled vision of faith-driven civic responsibility.
Darling confronts a central, modern question: Since when does praying to Jesus, loving America, and saluting the flag make you an extremist? He argues that God gave us a country, and with it, a duty to love it. We will examine why loving God and loving country are not mutually exclusive and how faith and virtue are central to the American experiment, setting the stage for a compelling look at the American identity and its future.
This is a call to resist cynicism, reject idolatry, and embrace gratitude for the nation God has entrusted to us—even as we acknowledge its failures and seek its renewal. Darling will address how Christians can effectively engage the political process to contribute to a healthier public square with Renewal Through Institutions, highlighting how local action can bring national healing. Join us to learn how to defend a vision of patriotism rooted in Christian virtue and embrace the courage and conviction needed to steward the love for the place where God has planted you.
