America 250: Bartow County Roots Bus Tour

Running from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the tour is led by Dr. Keith Hebert of Auburn University and Dr. Donna Little of Reinhardt University and highlights the region’s history in the decades leading up to the creation of Bartow County. Participants will visit an Adairsville cemetery connected to several American Revolutionary War veterans, explore Pine Log Town, a Cherokee settlement active during the Revolutionary era, and learn about the regional impact of figures such as Colonel Benjamin Hawkins and Benjamin Adair. The tour also includes a stop at Wofford’s Crossroads Baptist Church to hear about the Wofford family’s role in early Euro-American settlement and concludes at the Etowah Indian Mounds, where guests will examine significant Cherokee history leading up to the Trail of Tears.
Admission is $65 per person or $60 for museum members and includes transportation, snacks, a box lunch, and a souvenir tour booklet.
