About this Event

Arlington National Cemetery, one of America's most important historical landmarks, is best known for its more than 300,000 graves and famous monuments. Before this beautiful spot on the Potomac became a cemetery, it had a story entwined with the early history of some of Virginia's first families including the Custises, Lees, and Washingtons. Hear author Cynthia Parzych present the backstory of this iconic spot and highlight some of the stories of the people who lived and were buried on the land that’s become Arlington National Cemetery.
