America 250: A Commemoration with Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass
In honor of the 250th birthday of the United States, special speakers will read excerpts from two historical and iconic Independence Day speeches: Frederick Douglass's "What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?" and Susan B. Anthony's "Declaration of Rights of Women of the United States."
Together, we'll reflect on the progress made in our nation's history, while continuing to challenge and deepen our understanding of America's founding ideals. Visitors will also be invited to add their own goals for change for the next 250 years to our community word wall.
This event is free and open to the public.
