PopUp HiFi returns to Anzie Blue on Wed. July 8 with its next concept in high-end public listening sessions. AMBIENT HAPPY HOUR will feature classics of electronica, trip-hop, downtempo and ambient sounds on premium vinyl, including Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories, plus sides from Massive Attack, Zero 7, Nightmares on Wax, AIR, and DJ Shadow.
The public is invited at no charge and encouraged to bring friends. Doors open at 4 pm, and the records spin from 4:30 to 7. Drinks are served at AB’s exceptional bar.
Nashville PopUp HiFi is the brainchild of music journalist, broadcaster, and author Craig Havighurst. All are invited to join the group on Facebook, where more than 200 members trade tips, news, photos and gear for sale. It is a group of “music first audiophiles” who believe that the point is clarity, accuracy and emotional impact, not the most expensive or fancy equipment. This month’s curator of both music and gear is Sharif Zakhary, who will be installing his personal Mark Levinson (amplification) and Revel (speakers) stereo system for the night.
Located in the heart of Hillsboro Village, just blocks from Music Row and minutes from downtown, Anzie Blue is more than a music venue — it’s a creative home. From intimate concerts and live podcast recordings to private events and curated gatherings, it’s a cornerstone for community, storytelling, and artist-first experiences in Nashville.
