Come join us at 5832 Georgia Ave NW for an evening filled with inspiring poetry and beautiful art. Let's come together to promote peace and unity through creativity. This in-person event promises to be a night of reflection, hope, and solidarity. Don't miss out on this opportunity to support a great cause and enjoy the talent of local artists. See you there!

About the Event

A powerful poetry and arts event dedicated to raising awareness about the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and drawing American attention to the enduring suffering of the Congolese people. Additionally, the event seeks to show the centrality, value, and culture of the country to the world. This event highlights how the relentless pursuit of global technological advancement and the accumulation of national and individual wealth has come at the expense of Congolese lives, fueled by prolonged conflicts, forced displacement, and international exploitation.

This gathering will bring together Congolese poets, artists, and advocates to share their perspectives, emotions, and urgent calls to action. It will also feature panel discussions, poetry and dance performances, and a Congolese fashion showcase, all designed to educate, inspire, and mobilize the African diaspora community. The ultimate goal is to raise awareness, build community engagement, and lay the foundation for peacebuilding efforts within the diaspora community in the U.S. and beyond.
