The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. “Paint the Town Purple” this April, is a community awareness campaign supporting the work of the Alzheimer’s Association and the mission to end Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s and all other dementia are not normal brain aging. They are a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Join us, Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 5:30 on the 3rd floor of the Butte Silver Bow Public Library, as Julie Bushmaker, Montana Alzheimer volunteer, will discuss dementia disease types, stages and risk factors, current research and treatments and the resources from the Montana Alzheimer’s Association. Learn about the 10 common warning signs and what to watch for in yourself and others, how to approach someone about memory concerns, early detection, the benefits of a diagnosis and the diagnostic process. For centuries, we’ve known that the health of the brain and the body are connected. But now, we are able to provide insights into how to optimize our physical and cognitive health as we age. Learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.
