Alver Valley Early Years Network

After a short break while we have been busy implementing some significant change across our schools the Alver Valley Early Years Network is back!

We would like to warmly invite Early Years Practitioners to our June Alver Valley Early Years Network being held at Alver Valley Schools on Thursday 4th June 4:00pm-5:30pm.

The network is a free opportunity for Early Years practitioners including those from pre-schools, nurseries, schools and childminders to meet and share good practice, with the goal of working collaboratively to develop our practice and improve outcomes for children in our local area.

The focus for this session will be: Subitising and Early Number Sense. The session will be suitable for Early Years Practitioners working across the Early Years phase. We will have an input from our expert Nursery teacher and together we will explore what perceptual and conceptual subitising is and how it can be used in our everyday routines and practice to support young children's developing number sense and how this then supports children in getting to grips with the number system and later to securing number bond knowledge. Following on from this input there will be some time to have a look around the Early Years Environments and Network with other Early Years Practitioners.

We also have some brilliant resources and support to signpost you to and a little surprise to take away 1 per setting!

We will also be joined on the day by Claire Hargreaves the Community Engagement Officer at the Diving Museum in Stokes Bay. Claire is developing their offer which includes an Early Years offer. She will set up a table in the hall with some information to share with you and hands on activities to try!

Practitioners that work in Early Years settings in the Gosport and surrounding area can book a free place.
