Yes, real money. Visitors get to take home 1000 pounds each from his exhibition called Altruism. The exhibition takes place in two ways; Installation where you get to see 1 million pounds in one room, & dedicated performance times when the artist will be weighing up money and gifting it to the public.
Free ticket booking per person is ESSENTIAL to both visit and to receive The Gift.
Of ultimate relevance today, this is a chance to participate and invest in what's most important for survival. Whilst the super rich control the masses and invest in our downfall, here we can invest in our own future. The best form of protest is for us to build the world we want to live in.
Bamforth presents the first of the 'Devices For the Yet To Come', a series of tools for a world in crisis - kits that help imagine new possibilities, improved connection to Earth and other humans, and feeling valued in a liveable future we can contribute to.

The installation/performance in the main space at Greatorex is the first of the many devices. Altruism, 'Devices For The Yet To Come' is a large project that goes far beyond this exhibition and has been four years in development.
The back space presents research, scientific partners and educational organisations who have helped develop this project so far and will continue to do so with the artist before it goes to the 40,000 children in its pilot stage.
The Altruism devices, 'art as tools for the future' - are built with scientists, specialists and the public to interpret their own stories. - Installations and artworks as tools to develop care, resilience & imagination, using interconnected ecology as a model for society. These are self-build kits that help others to imagine new possibilities, improved connection to earth and other humans, food security, local bio-diversity, health, and feeling valued in a livable future they can contribute to.
Alexis Bamforth presents current progress on these kits that highlight the interconnected dependency of all living things. Help for teachers, students and wider society, to develop resilience and imagination to adapt to a world in crisis.
As well as the above, visitors will be able to become holder of the Priceless Begging Bowl, (to be revealed at the exhibition).
