Returning August 13–16, 2026, Alternating Currents transforms Downtown Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, along with Downtown Rock Island, Illinois into a multi-city celebration of music, film, comedy and visual art across the Quad Cities region.
With 200+ performances and experiences spanning 50+ venues and public spaces, AC invites attendees to move freely between bars, galleries, concert halls, parks, patios, storefronts and unexpected spaces throughout the weekend.
Unlike a traditional gated festival, Alternating Currents is designed around exploration, discovery and connection, creating opportunities to experience nationally touring artists, local creatives, film screenings, murals, comedy, interactive programming and more while supporting the businesses and downtown districts that make the Quad Cities unique.
Whether you're a longtime local or visiting for the first time, Alternating Currents is an invitation to experience the creativity, culture and momentum shaping the QC today.

Founded in 2017 by the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP), Alternating Currents is a free, multi-day festival powered by DDP in collaboration with placemaking partners Downtown Bettendorf Organization and Rock Island Downtown Alliance. With hundreds of events spanning music, film, comedy, and visual art, AC transforms downtown spaces into creative playgrounds for all.
