ALLOWED TO BIRTH
A Special Community Film Screening & Midwifery Roundtable
Saturday, November 14, 2026 | 12:00 PM
Northern Center at Northern Michigan University | Marquette, MI
Tickets: $20 | Only 35 Seats Available!
Join us for a special screening of Allowed to Birth, a powerful documentary exploring the journey of a global midwife.
What makes this film especially meaningful to our community? At the heart of this story is a LOCAL midwife right here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula!
This documentary invites us to take a closer look at maternity care, the challenges facing midwives and birthing families, and the importance of preserving choices in childbirth.
Whether you're an expectant parent, birth professional, healthcare provider, or simply someone who cares about the future of maternity care, this is a conversation worth being part of.
More Than Just a Movie!
Following the 60-minute film, we'll host a live Q&A roundtable with local midwives and doulas, offering an opportunity to ask questions, share perspectives, and discuss what birth options and maternity care look like right here in the U.P.
