Join us for the Downbeach premier of an incredible film about 43 immigrant families fleeing the tyranny of Russia in 1882 and settling in the desolate woods of South Jersey. This improbable story follows these settlers, who were once forbidden to own land in their homeland but, against all odds, claimed land in South Jersey, harnessed its bounty, and built a legacy that would be reborn six generations later
The full length documentary, ALLIANCE, tells this unique true story of family, immigration, connection, and growth. This film looks at the foundational history of the Alliance Colony, the first successful Jewish farming community in the United States.
