All aboard the Moberly Mini Train in Rothwell Park for an interactive experience of the unique, historical robbery event that occurred in 1861, in Allen, MO., which is now a part of Moberly.
This event is kid-friendly, and all ages are welcome. Train rides are $2.50/person.
This year's actors come from youth players of the 4th Street Theater who portray the "robbers." Following each ride, youth riders up to the age of 12 years old will receive a chocolate, foil-covered fold coin as a special treat, as long as supply remains.
The actors will stop each train traveling through Allen, MO., and look for a bag of coin and currency. When turned over to the "robbers" the train will be "released" to continue to travel to its destination.
Past reenactments have attracted up to 500 passengers so plan to come early to ensure your ride.
The Allen Train Robbery is sponsored by the Moberly Friends of the Park and the volunteers of the Rothwell Park Railroad, The Magic City Line. The event is a major fundraiser for the Friends of the Park Foundation and the volunteers encourage and appreciate all those attending.
