LET'S ALL DO ALL WE CAN TO STAND STRONG TOGETHER. SAVE OUR LIBRARIES FROM BEING SHUTTERED!!!April's Allegany County Library System Trustees Meeting is more important than ever. John Taube, Executive Director, will be presenting alternative budgets for the 7 trustees to review that include keeping all six libraries open and cutting system administrative and other expenses. As I've reported before, the ACLS operates their nonprofit with a 70% cost of administration, and financially successful nonprofits operate at about 35%. This is one reason the ACLS does not qualify for most grants.
We must be present in force at this April 8th meeting to show great numbers of folks who want to save these libraries from closing. Even if you don't want to speak, there are many others who will sign up. It's just important to be there! 4 pm at South Cumberland Library, unless they change the location due to needing more space.
WE NEED A VILLAGE TO MOVE THIS MOUNTAIN!! THEY SHOULD KNOW BY NOW THAT WE IN WESTERNPORT KNOW THERE AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH!!
