What a great way celebrate the last days of summer 2025! The amazing Italian folk group Alla Boara on the intimate Bop Stop stage again! We were there last year when they turned the club into a recording studio for laying down the music for their first CD album. You can catch the video we shot below.
Join us for a night of anniversary celebrations! One of Cleveland's favorite bands Alla Boara marks their 5th anniversary and the BOP STOP celebrates its 11th year of presenting excellent local national and international jazz to Northeast Ohio! This special celebration is one you won't want to miss.
After five years of bringing traditional Italian melodies to life with contemporary flair Alla Boara is ready to celebrate this milestone with their favorite fans. Come be part of the celebration as we honor the music and community that has made this journey possible.

ALLA BOARA - Built around the incredibly dynamic voice of Amanda Powell (Apollo's Fire) and the eclectic arrangements of Italian folk music by drummer Anthony Taddeo Alla Boara's sounds are "...Spirited romantic and ultimately refreshing." John Raymond Trumpeter and Professor Indiana University.

“Mamma Mia Dammi Cento Lire” -

These two songs are about the massive amounts of emigration that was widespread in Italy. In some cases even entire towns would move to America for better opportunity.
The first song Mamma Mia Dammi Cento Lire is about a girl asking her mother to give her 100 lire (the currency in Italy at the time that the song was being sung) so that she can go to America. The second song that we mixed with it is called Io Parto Per L’America [I’m going to America] and is a story of someone that is saying goodbye to Italy because they are moving away.
The song ends with a recapitulation of the original melody but this time it is a little bit darker because the “warning” of the Mamma from the beginning (that if her daughter tries to go to America her boat will sink) came true.
