A friendly in‑person event for primary and secondary language teachers to exchange ideas, discuss classroom practice and meet colleagues.
About this Event

Following the success of last year’s event, this informal Show & Tell Teach Meet invites colleagues to share practical classroom ideas, explore current challenges in language teaching, and connect with fellow teachers from primary, secondary and post‑16 settings.

As schools continue to adapt to the new GCSE specifications, this year’s event offers space to exchange emerging practice and reflect on progression from early language learning through to GCSE and beyond.

What to Expect

4:30–5:00 | Arrival & Networking
Meet colleagues from across the region, browse shared resources and reconnect with the local languages community.

5:00–5:45 | Show & Tell: Classroom Practice
Short, informal 5‑minute contributions from practising teachers. Ideas may include:
• developing speaking and spontaneity
• differentiation and assessment
• engaging listening and reading activities
• building classroom community
• preparing for the new GCSE

5:55–6:30 | Discussion Forum
Themed table discussions exploring early experiences of the new GCSE and wider language‑teaching practice. A supportive space to share challenges and practical solutions.

6:30 | Close

Who Should Attend?
Open to primary and secondary language teachers, A‑level teachers, trainees, ECTs and anyone interested in language education. You’re welcome to share an idea or simply listen and connect.

Interested in Contributing?
If you’d like to offer a short Show & Tell contribution (approx. 5 minutes), please indicate this when registering.

We look forward to welcoming you to an inspiring evening of ideas, collaboration and community.
