About this Event

Session Information

Join us at The Sheds (part of the Bristol Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus) for an introduction to cutting-edge data visualisation using immersive technologies. This interactive session will explore how advanced visualisation methods can transform the way we understand complex datasets. Attendees will have the chance to experience our state-of-the-art Reality Emulator, an unparalleled facility for exploring digital futures, through live demonstrations and a behind-the-scenes tour. Alongside hands-on insights, the event offers plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues over refreshments and lunch.

Before the Session...

Do you have some data you would like to see visualised in the Reality Emulator? For a small number of participants, we may be able to work with you to format your data to visualise during this event. If so, please tick ‘Yes’ to this question when finalising your ticket order. Email [email protected] if you would like to find out more (subject: Data Week – Data Visualisation).

Target Audience

Open to anyone wanting to learn more about data visualisation and immersive technology. Could include students, researchers, members of the public, industrial partners.

Event Organisers
  • Rachel Prior (BDFI Institute Manager)
  • Raul Santos-Rodriguez (BDFI Co-Director)
  • Ardian K. Ng (Technical Expert - Immersive Technologies)

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  • Describe the principles of immersive data visualisation and understand how these differ from traditional visualisation methods.
  • Recognise the value of immersive technologies for exploring, communicating, and interpreting complex datasets across a range of disciplines.
  • Understand the capabilities of the Reality Emulator and identify how it can support research and collaboration.
  • Experience practical examples of immersive data visualisations and reflect on their potential application to participants’ own work or areas of interest.
